Yeah, our name is Green Remodeling, but we do indeed do a "from scratch" project now and again. This is our highest performing project to date. It uses solar for heating and hot water and an earth-tube for cooling and ventilation. Most of the lumber from the shack we tore down got re-used somewhere in the new home. Interior finishes include FSC-certified oak floors, Marmoleum in the kids' rooms, bamboo cabinets, Cambria countertops, low-flow plumbing fixtures, Energy-Star appliances and lighting, and Andersen windows and doors.
